Pray for Taiwan on Sunday, August 30, 2009

Lectionary Text and Prayers for Taiwan: Mark 7:1-8, 14-15, 21-23

Gracious God, today we stand in solidarity with our brothers and sisters in Taiwan as they recover from the storm that hit their country earlier this month. We thank you for our partners in Taiwan and ask you to help them put their faith into action as they reach out to victims of this natural disaster. We pray especially for the Presbyterian Church in Taiwan (PCT) as they asses the damage to homes of church members and their church buildings and respond accordingly. We thank you that we have been able to provide some financial assistance for this effort through out Global Ministries East Asia and Pacific Office and Week of Compassion. We bring before you the victims of this natural disaster and ask you to make your presence known to them in their time of need. In Jesus name we pray. Amen

A word from the Presbyterian Church in Taiwan: “On behalf of the PCT and the people of Taiwan we express our deep appreciation for your concern and ask that you hold the victims of this major disaster in your prayers as well as those involved in the daunting task of rescue and relief in the weeks to come.” To read the full report, click here: http://globalministries.org/news/eap/typhoon-and-tropical-storm.html
