Pray for Timor Loro’sae on Sunday, March 28, 2010
Prayer for Timor Loro’sae (based on Luke 19: 28-40):
Gracious and loving God, we give thanks that you have called us into partnership with churches in Indonesia and Timor Loro’sae. Through many languages, cultures and landscapes, we are able to see the vast scope of your love and presence in the world. Yet in these places, we also see the struggles and suffering of many people you created and love. Lord, give us the courage and wisdom to “untie” that which is needed for us to participate in your kingly rule on earth as it is in heaven. This week as we read about Jesus’ journey into Jerusalem on the back of a humble donkey, may we also pause to reflect on the meaning of kingship and leadership in your realm. Help us all to be humble servants in Christ’s name, always looking first to the interests of those stuggling with illness and poverty in your world, especially our partners in villages throughout Indonesia and Timor Loro’sae. In Jesus name, Amen.
(Prayer by Thomas Liddle, missionary)
