Retiring GM Co-Executives Share Final Reflections at Board Meeting

During the Common Global Ministries Board meeting on April 8-9, Cally Rogers-Witte and David Vargas had the opportunity to share with the board their final reflections as Co-Executives of Global Ministries. Both David and Cally will be retiring on July 31, 2011.

The DOM board and the WCM board nominated new leadership for Global Ministries. Rev. Jim Moos was nominated as the new Executive Minister of WCM and Rev. Julia Brown Karimu was nominated as President of DOM. If confirmed, Julia and Jim will begin their leadership as the Co-Executives of Global Ministries on August 1, 2011.

The Common Global Ministries Board expressed their gratitude to concluding missionaries: Casilda Luzares who served in Japan and Ryan Beck Turner who served as a Global Mission Intern in India. The Board also reappointed Carmelo Alvarez as a missionary to serve a 4 year term with the Latin American Evangelical Pentecostal Commission (CEPLA) and the Evangelical Pentecostal Union of Venezuela (UEPV). He will continue his work as program consultant and visiting professor for the CEPLA and the UEPV.
