Rev. Deenabandhu Manchala joins Global Ministries staff as Southern Asia Area Executive

Originally from India, Rev. Manchala has been on the staff of the World Council of Churches since 2000. From 2000 to 2005 he coordinated the WCC’s Decade to Overcome Violence program. Most recently he has served as the WCC’s co-coordinator of the Just and Inclusive Communities program. In that capacity he has overseen the theological and mission work done through five networks of marginalized people that challenge discrimination and exclusion in various regions of the world.

Global Ministries welcomes Rev. Deenabandhu Manchala as he joins the Global Ministries staff as the new Southern Asia Area Executive.

Rev. Manchala has done a considerable amount of public speaking, lecturing and writing. He has published in international journals on such topics as ecclesiology, ecumenism, contextual theologies, Dalit theology, migration, racism and mission. In 2010 he worked in partnership with the UCC in Cleveland on issues of racism. Through the course of his career, he has also had direct contact with many of our Global Ministries partners in Southern Asia.
 
Rev. Manchala is based in the Cleveland office of Global Ministries.
