Thank You from Inanda Seminary

Dear Sandra

Thank you so much for the cheque of 5000 dollars received from Global Ministries for our 140th birthday celebrations. It really is most appreciated and we would like to thank you most sincerely and ask that you communicate our grateful thanks to everyone.  It was SUCH a thrill to have you with us for some of the celebrations – we felt so privileged to have you among us on Friday to share the Drama and the alumnae evening.

We were sad you had to leave early on Saturday but very pleased you were able to get to the funeral in Swaziland.  Our day at the Seminary on Saturday was really wonderful!  The atmosphere was vibrant and Inanda Seminary was showcased for the glory of God and the work of Jesus in this place for the past 140 years. We had 3 speeches in the end – one from the provincial minister of education, then the national minister of education, followed by the Deputy President.  Mr Andre September did very well in the dedication of Edwards Hall and the opening was very grand.  We redid the School Drama again after lunch – it was quite Shakespearian as there was much activity in the marquee but the show rolled on!  The following day we enjoyed Daniel Lindley Hatch preaching to us – particularly as his talk centred on Lucy Lindley. I can’t remember ever hearing about her. He was charming and it was so special having him with us on this auspicious occasion.  The members of the school and staff had a rosy glow about them on Monday as all reflected on a memorable celebration. I still have people popping in to my office and commenting on it – almost as if they do not want to let it go!

We were so grateful to receive your contribution towards the costs of the function.  We had received so little sponsorship up to that moment it was like real “manna from heaven”.  It certainly was a celebration that will be remembered for many years to come. It was a real treat having Rev Susan Valiquette here to share it.  I was so relieved when she arrived that I found myself weeping as I greeted her.  Her help in the final week of arrangements was invaluable.  She also put together a stunning power point which we used in the service and was enjoyed by everyone

Thank you for your on going support financially and in prayer.  We are so grateful to be a part of the wider church community and in particular part of the plan that God clearly had for this part of the world.

Yours in education,

J A T Tate (Mrs)
