David Owen Receives Distinguished Minister Award for Specialized Ministry

Global Ministries is pleased to announce that Associate for Resource Development, Reverend David K. Owen, was honored by Brite Divinity School with this year’s Distinguished Minister Award for Specialized Ministry.  The award was presented during a luncheon on February 8, 2011, at the Texas Christian University/Brite Divinity School Ministers Week in Fort Worth, Texas. Former Co-Chair of the Common Global Ministries Board Chad Cline, himself a TCU alum, introduced David at the event.

This award is presented to a Brite alum who has rendered outstanding and continuing service in a focused ministry.  Specialized ministry includes missionaries, chaplains, campus ministries, or directing unique ministries. As well as serving for over four years in his current capacity as Associate for Resource Development, David, along with his wife Roxi, served for 20 years as missionaries in Lesotho and Kenya. Of unique interest is that David’s parents, Dan and Sandy Owen (former missionaries to Congo and Swaziland), were presented with this award in 2006.
