Global Mission Intern to represent Global Ministries at Middle East peace forum

Krista Johnson, Global Ministries intern in Jerusalem, will represent Global Ministries at the World Council of Churches’ new initiative, the Palestine Israel Ecumenical Forum (PIEF), June 17-21, in Jordan.
The inter-church initiative for peace in Israel and Palestine will be launched on the 40th anniversary of the occupation of Palestinian lands by Israel. The forum is part of WCC’s goal of mobilizing churches around the world for peace with justice in the Middle East, according to a WCC press release. Forum participants will seek to coordinate current church advocacy work and to promote new cooperative efforts for peace.
