Lee and Jacquelin Brummel ISEDET Education Fund

Argentina

The Lee and Jacquelin Brummel ISEDET Education Fund has been established by Dr. B. Lee and Mrs. Jacquelin Brummel who served for more than fifteen years as persons in mission of the Division of Overseas Ministries in Argentina. The Division of Overseas Ministries is honored to recognize Lee and Jacquelin Brummel in this special way, given their many years of faithful service to the Superior Evangelical Institute of Theological Studies (ISEDET), located in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and to the Disciples of Christ Church of Argentina.

ISEDET was formed in 1969 when the Evangelical School of Theology and Lutheran School of Theology joined forces. The Disciples of Christ had been involved with the Evangelical School in 1889 when the school moved to Buenos Aires from Uruguay.  Today, ISEDET is truly an ecumenical institution with involvement from many churches in the Protestant family.  ISEDET prepares individuals to serve as pastors, teachers, and researchers by providing training in theology to full-time students, pastors, and church congregations.  ISEDET utilizes the diverse traditions, values, and beliefs from all of the churches to better serve the theological training needs of Latin America.  The ecumenical nature of the institute also fosters an environment of critical thinking, reflection, creativity, and research.

One hundred percent of the distribution earnings of the Brummel ISEDET Education Fund will be sent annually to ISEDET to be used for what is needed most in the seminary program with priority on providing student scholarship assistance, the purchase of books, and institutional meetings and conferences.
