On One Hand…

On one hand there are five fingers. Here are five ways to remember Global Ministries’ mission work around the world:

On one hand there are five fingers. Here are five ways to remember Global Ministries’ mission work around the world:

A five year drought in India has left many with no safe water. Yet the Coca-Cola Company has purchased the rights to available water in India in order to bottle their products. Most in rural India cannot afford bottled beverages. This has left millions with no access to any water at all. Global Ministries advocates for the right for ALL to have free access to water.

In rural China there are five teachers for every 160 students. If we do our math we know that there are then 32 students per classroom – a very large number for one teacher to handle. There is a great shortage of trained teachers in much of rural China. Global Ministries sends teachers to train teachers in China who are committed to returning to their own rural community to teach.

In Sub-Saharan Africa 5 million children are orphaned due to HIV-AIDS. Five million represents all of the children who are currently five years old in the U.S. – each and every one. AIDS awareness, treatment and prevention are the goals of Global Ministries on every continent.

Every five seconds, somewhere in our world, a child dies from a treatable hunger- related illness. Global Ministries’ food sustainability efforts enable villagers to grow hardy crops which are nutritious and indigenous to their area.

If five percent of the wealthiest individuals in our world would share just five percent of their wealth, the ALL the problems of poverty in the world would be solved.

What part will you play in placing your hand upon the world?

Each one of us has a unique touch which makes a small difference in at least one person’s life.
