Prayers for Greece
Dear God, thank you for your continued presence, protection, and love in our lives and hearts. We bow before you and we lift up our country, Greece, our leaders, and our people in front of your throne, asking to find favor with you. Thank you for the freedom we have to worship and praise you. Please protect our country from evil, injustice, and violence, and open our eyes to see each other the way you see us.
Thank you for the “doors” you have opened to serve those who are in need physically, financially, socially, and spiritually, those who are vulnerable and voiceless, homeless and hopeless, lonely and weak.
We uplift every person that we serve, refugees, vulnerable locals, members of our community and church, asking for your power to overshadow them and keep them safe.
Dear God, we are your servants and remain to your word to live lives pleasing you.
Mission Moment from Greece
M.S., a Ukrainian refugee, is under international protection status in Greece due to the war. Until today, Perichoresis is their refuge and hope. The project, which provides accommodation and services to the family, is funded by the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and the United Church of Christ (UCC) through Global Ministries.
M.S. came to Greece with her 2 children from the city of Pology, Zaporizhzhia region, occupied by Russians. Since March 2022, their city has been on fire under active hostilities. It has been completely burned and destroyed, and now their house is occupied by the Russian military, and the quarter is destroyed. Today, they have nowhere to return. M.S. is 42 years old and has had 3 operations with the loss of the corresponding organs and chronic diseases, including those requiring constant medication.
Through the specific project, M.S. and her family have found a house to live in safely and protected and they live a normal daily life. They have medical care, a social environment, activities to participate in, and hugs from all of us in Perichoresis.
