Prayers for Morocco
Omnipotent God,
You are the creator of the world, and the fate of each nation is in your hands.
We pray to you for Morocco, a country that welcomes numerous foreigners for different reasons. We ask that you watch over them that they are treated with dignity. Protect those who risk their lives crossing the deep waters to reach Europe. For those who do not find work in Morocco, open doors so they may return safely to their countries of origin and find new perspectives on their futures.
We also pray to you for the Evangelical Church in Morocco (EEaM) in this time as it prepares for elections at all levels of the church, from local congregations to the executive committee of the EEaM. May the Holy Spirit guide the electors so that those who are elected act according to your will.
Constantly grant the whole Church the necessary discernment to use its spiritual gifts, especially prophecy, faithful to your Word.
In this digital world, keep the church’s members from being led astray by all sorts of predictions broadcast on different platforms. Give them the will to participate in training programs organized by the EEaM to grow in their faith, be rooted in your Word, and mature in their spiritual lives. Amen.
Mission Moment from Morocco
The Evangelical Church in Morocco is made up entirely of foreigners – the majority of whom are students. Our primary responsibility is to accompany pastors and their families. We organize home visits to offer pastoral care and accompaniment for pastors and their families.
We also organize retreats for pastors and meetings for their spouses. The different activities, made possible with support from Global Ministries, yield remarkable fruit: they strengthen relationships between pastors, their spouses, and their children, for better family harmony. This stability results in a positive impact on the pastors’ ministries. They report finding inner peace thanks to this accompaniment.
During our interactions, pastors and their families freely express their joys, challenges, and concerns, helping to prevent emotional and spiritual difficulties that could affect them.
At the heart of the Agadir parish, where the majority are students, we take on the role not only of pastors but also of parents. In effect, many of the young people there face emotional difficulties. The close relationship we nurture with them often leads them to consider us more as parents than as pastors.
We also accompany employees preparing to enter the professional workplace. We help them to build their lives according to biblical principles, including as they prepare for marriage. Thanks to this form of accompaniment, four couples have already married, and we anticipate two others soon.
The support that we receive from Global Ministries allows us to provide regular pastoral follow-up to the parish through visitations, time to listen, and personalized spiritual accompaniment. Thanks to this consistent presence, the local congregation has seen encouraging growth, both in the spiritual realm and in numbers.
