The Southern Asia Initiative

“…so that we may be mutually encouraged by each other’s faith, both yours and mine.” –Romans 1:12

During the Southern Asia Initiative, we are focusing our attention on 4 issues from the region: climate change, rights of religious minorities, human trafficking, and Dalit human rights. The videos below offer a brief look at each of these issues in the context of the region and how our partners are responding. We encourage you to use the videos and accompanying discussion questions to begin your exploration of these issues.

Religious Minorities

Religious Minorities video: Please read the scripture and reflect on how it correlates to the video.

  1. How would you feel if you lived in a country where your religion was not the majority?
  2. Do you think it’s ok to have friends from other faith backgrounds?

“Brothers and sisters do not slander one another. Anyone who speaks against a brother or sister or judges them speaks against the law and judges it. When you judge the law, you are not keeping it, but sitting in judgment on it. There is only one Lawgiver and Judge, the one who is able to save and destroy. But you—who are you to judge your neighbor?” James 4:11-12
