With the concern and blessing of Rev. Dr. James Moos, Co-Executive of Global Ministries and Executive Minister of WCM, Rev. Dr. Xiaoling Zhu, Area Executive for East Asia and the Pacific, made a special trip to Lancaster, PA, Jan. 26, 2012, to visit Rev. Paul Gregory, the former Asia and the Pacific Area Executive of ABCFM, now WCM.

In an assisted living facility, Xiaoling visited the family accompanied by Paul’s wife Catherine Gregory and her pastor Rev. Kathryn Kuhn at the Church of the Apostles UCC.

Both Paul (91) and Catherine (93) were missionaries to China (1947-1949) and Japan (1949-1957).  After that Paul took the position of East Asia Area Secretary of ABCFM (1957-1966) and General Secretary of Mission Division of UCC (1976-1986). The couple served 35 years in global mission.

The visit was very pleasant.  With such rich mission experiences, Paul and Catherine shared many stories.  Xiaoling asked them what motivated them to serve in global mission for so long.  The answer was, “We love it! We love global mission!”  On that evening, Paul and the visitors shared a wonderful dinner.

The Gregory family was thankful to Global Ministries for Xiaoling’s visit, and their stories moved us at the same time.
