During the Southern Asia Initiative, we are focusing on 4 issues from the region: climate change, rights of religious minorities, human trafficking, and Dalit human rights. The video bible study below offers a brief look at Dalit human rights in the region and how partners are responding. We encourage you to use the videos and accompanying discussion questions to begin your exploration of these issues.

  1. Have you heard of Dalits before? What do you think it’s like to live in a caste-based society?
  2. Are you surprised by the issue of child marriage? What do you think could be harmful to this practice? (There are many right answers!)
  3. What inspires you most about the work of the Indian Samaritans?
