The Southern Asia Initiative

“…so that we may be mutually encouraged by each other’s faith, both yours and mine.” –Romans 1:12

The Global Ministries Southern Asia Initiative invites you to walk together in hope with partners in the Southern Asia region as we discover and learn what it means to live faithfully.

Despite a complex history of cultures, spiritual traditions, growing economies, and emerging technology, Asia has also been home to the largest number of the poor in the world. This has made the region susceptible to dictatorships, terrorism, fundamentalism, bigotry, human rights’ violations, and caste-based violence.

However, Asian churches, mostly as fragmented minority communities, find themselves at the crossroads of being rooted and relevant while also remaining connected with their faith traditions. Despite limitations and differences, most churches aim to stand together in hope as they respond to human need and suffering while upholding the causes of justice, peace, and human dignity.

Global Ministries invites you to participate in the Southern Asia Initiative as we receive and share the good news together in hope!
