Prayer for Argentina

God of life and mission, just as in Galilee you called Jesus to proclaim that your Kingdom had drawn near and to summon simple men and women to follow him, today we hear your voice again, calling us to leave our nets and walk in his footsteps. We thank you for our country, for its people, their struggles, and their hopes; we ask that your light dispel all darkness of injustice, inequality, and violence, and that you strengthen those who work for peace and the common good. Bless our daily work and the ministries we carry out, so that they may be living signs of your Kingdom and a faithful expression of your love. We present to you the people and communities we serve, especially those living in vulnerable situations; make us instruments of healing, teaching, and hope. As the Evangelical Disciples of Christ Church in Argentina, we affirm that your mission is shared and lived out both locally and globally. We thank you for our partnership with the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and the United Church of Christ, which allows us to accompany communities, develop leaders, and transform lives, like those of so many families who find dignity, education, and faith in community. Send us, Lord, as fishers of people, to proclaim with words and actions that your Kingdom is near. Amen.

Mission Moment from Argentina

The collaborative work between the Evangelical Disciples of Christ Church in Argentina and Global Ministries has been a profoundly transformative experience for our communities. Through this partnership, we have been able to strengthen missionary initiatives that originate in local churches, accompanying them in their specific contexts. The presence and support of Global Ministries are not limited to material and financial assistance, but are also expressed in leadership training, in the growth and strengthening of local communities through spiritual retreats, fellowship gatherings, and workshops, in supporting community projects with women and families of incarcerated individuals in vulnerable situations, and in providing pastoral care in contexts where families are often affected by social and economic vulnerability. This fraternal relationship reminds us that mission is not lived in isolation, but in communion and ecumenism, as the body of Christ extended beyond borders.

Thanks to this shared journey, we have seen how communities are encouraged to dream and to respond to Jesus’ call to proclaim the Kingdom with concrete words and actions. Educational projects, community support spaces, and pastoral ministries have found new tools and hope through this cooperation. Global Ministries walks alongside us not as a leader, but as someone who listens, accompanies, and trusts. This testimony encourages us to continue being a church that goes forth, committed to justice, compassion, and God’s mission in Argentina and throughout the world.
