Prayers for India

Gracious and loving God,

We thank You for the rich diversity of India and for Your unfailing love toward our nation. We also thank You for the Church in India that continues to cling to You, faithfully witnessing to Your love and truth despite many challenges.

Lord, we pray for the basic needs of our nation. May quality education reach every child, especially those in rural and remote communities. May women and girls be treated with dignity and respect and be given equal opportunities to learn, grow, and serve. Grant our leaders wisdom, vision, integrity, and compassion as they lead at every level. We also pray that quality healthcare may reach every corner of India, especially the poor and underserved, so that all may receive timely, compassionate, and appropriate care. Help our nation to grow in truth, justice, peace, and hope.

We especially pray for Evangelical Mission Hospital, Tilda, serving the rural communities of Central India. We thank You for the faithful missionaries whose vision and sacrifice established this ministry in 1929. For nearly a century, You have sustained this hospital by Your grace and touched countless lives through healing and compassionate care. Continue to strengthen and guide us to remain faithful to the mission You have entrusted to us. Bless the nearly 150 villages we serve and every patient who comes through our doors. May they experience Your healing, Your love, and Your peace through our ministry, and may everything we do bring glory to Your name.

Mission Moment from India

Nestled in the rural heart of Central India, Evangelical Mission Hospital, Tilda (EMHT), has been a witness to God’s healing ministry since 1929. What began through the vision and sacrifice of faithful missionaries continues today as a place of hope for thousands of people from villages where access to healthcare remains limited.

Since its inception, our vision has been “Transforming lives and communities in the spirit of Jesus Christ.” Guided by this calling, we continue to provide compassionate, holistic, quality, and affordable healthcare that reflects Christ’s love to every person who comes through our doors.

Today, our hospital serves people from nearly 150 surrounding villages. In an era where healthcare is increasingly commercialized, we remain committed to ethical, patient-centered, and mission-driven care. Our 90-member EMHT family strives each day to serve with integrity, compassion, and faith, trusting God to sustain this ministry.

The rapid growth of private and corporate hospitals has significantly reduced our patient footfall, placing considerable financial strain on this century-old mission. Yet, through every challenge, Global Ministries have remained a faithful partner in this healing ministry. Their generous support has enabled us to procure laparoscopic surgical equipment and renovate our decades-old operation theatre, strengthening our ability to provide safe, quality surgical care for rural communities.

As the EMHT family, we offer our heartfelt gratitude to Global Ministries, the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), and the United Church of Christ for walking alongside us in God’s mission. We pray that God will richly bless every hand, heart, and church that makes this ministry possible, so that together we may continue transforming lives and communities in the spirit of Jesus Christ
